# How Inventory+ works

> How a company starts working in Inventory+ and why administrators and employees use different interfaces.

Work in Inventory+ starts with creating a company. **Employees do not need to register independently or create their own workspaces.**

The owner first registers the company. The owner and other administrators then use **Company Management** to add employees, equipment, inventory and workspaces, assign responsibility, and grant employee access.

Employees work with the data prepared by administrators: they receive and transfer equipment, confirm receipt, work with inventory, and perform other actions available to them.

## How the two sides work together

<Steps>
  <Step title="The owner creates the company">
    The owner registers the company and receives access to its management. Additional administrators can be added when needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Administrators prepare company data">
    Administrators add and edit employees, equipment, inventory and workspaces, assign responsibility, and manage access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Employees work with existing data">
    Employees do not manage the company's master data. In their own interface they record real actions: receiving and transferring equipment, confirming receipt, working with inventory, and performing other available operations.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Administrators see the complete picture">
    Employee actions are reflected in the company's records. Administrators see the current state and can initiate an operation themselves when necessary.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Why there are two interfaces

The separation exists for **security and simplicity**.

Administrators need full access to company data and settings. Employees need a small set of everyday actions, so Inventory+ does not force everyone to work in the same complex administration interface.

<Info>
  In **My Equipment**, an employee cannot edit the company's master data or settings. The interface is limited to safe operational actions involving existing equipment, inventory and workspaces.
</Info>

When signing in, the user selects the appropriate interface:

* **Company Management** — for the company owner and administrators;
* **My Equipment** — for employees.

### Company Management

**Company Management** is the full web administration interface, designed primarily for desktop and laptop use. It includes adding and editing employees, equipment, inventory and workspaces; assigning responsibility; managing employee access; directories and settings; company-wide information; and administrative operations.

### My Equipment

**My Equipment** is a separate simplified employee interface available in the mobile app and in a browser.

Employees see only information relevant to their work and perform straightforward actions with data already created by the company. For example, they can receive or transfer equipment, take equipment for themselves, confirm receipt, or work with equipment belonging to a workspace for which they are responsible.
