# Delete an employee profile

Delete a profile when an employee should no longer participate in the company's current accounting. Inventory+ allows deletion only after no current assets or responsibility remain linked to the employee.

## Before deletion

The employee must have no equipment for which they are responsible, no equipment currently held temporarily, no inventory balance, and no workspace responsibility. Transfer the assets and reassign responsibility first.

## What happens after deletion

The employee is removed from current work, **but historical records are preserved**. Past transfers, inventory issues, confirmations and other actions continue to identify the employee who participated.

Inventory+ therefore uses a **soft delete** model: the employee leaves current operations but remains part of the company's accounting history.
