# Add and edit equipment

Equipment can be added **manually, one unit at a time**, or **in bulk from a file**.

## Add equipment manually

Create the equipment record directly in Inventory+ and enter its data.

## Bulk import

For a large number of items, use [Import equipment from a file](/en/equipment/add-edit/import-from-file).

## Equipment limit

The number of equipment records that can be added is determined by the equipment limit of the company's subscription plan.

## Edit equipment

Open the equipment record and click **Edit**. Data can be updated at any time.

## After adding equipment

The new item becomes an individually tracked asset. You can assign responsibility, record transfers, maintain condition and kit contents, track repairs and use the other lifecycle functions.
