# Import equipment from a file

Use file import when many equipment records need to be created at once. Prepare the import file using the required columns, upload it, review the parsed data and correct validation errors before confirming the import.

Imported records become normal individual equipment items and can then receive responsibility assignments, QR codes and other lifecycle data.
