# Identification by QR code

A QR code lets you quickly find a marked entity in Inventory+, such as equipment, an inventory type, or another entity that uses a QR code.

There are three ways to identify an entity: with the smartphone camera, through **My Equipment**, or through the **Company Management** panel.

## Using the smartphone camera

This is the fastest method. You do not need to open Inventory+ first.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the smartphone camera">
    Point the phone's standard camera at the QR code.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the link">
    When the QR code is recognized, open the link shown by the phone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the identified entity">
    If you are already signed in to Inventory+, the system checks the QR code and opens the corresponding entity.

    If you are not signed in, the sign-in page opens first. After successful sign-in, Inventory+ continues processing the same QR code and opens the identified entity. **You do not need to scan the code again.**
  </Step>
</Steps>

The link opens in the browser in the **My Equipment** interface, including when it is scanned on a smartphone.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the code manually if needed">
    Instead of using the camera, switch to manual entry and enter the code yourself.
  </Step>
</Steps>

After recognizing the code, Inventory+ checks it and opens the corresponding entity.
