Employees are the people for whom Inventory+ records assets, responsibility and related actions. The employee directory should include everyone who participates in asset accounting, including permanent employees, temporary workers, contractors and other people. A person does not need to use Inventory+ personally in order to be included. Operations always refer to a specific employee record: equipment is assigned or transferred to a specific employee, inventory is issued to a specific employee, and responsibility for a workspace is assigned to specific employees. The system also records who performed an action, not only who the action concerns.

Employee record and system access are separate

Adding a person to the employee directory does not automatically mean that they must sign in to Inventory+. The company can maintain accounting records for an employee without giving them access. Access is granted or revoked separately. This separation lets Inventory+ preserve a continuous history of assets and responsibility even when a person does not currently use the application.
