Equipment in Inventory+ means an asset tracked as an individual unit. Each unit has its own record and can be followed throughout its entire lifecycle in the company. This model is suitable for power tools, machinery, equipment, office equipment and other assets where the company needs to know not only quantity, but also the specific unit’s condition, location, responsibility and history.

Why track equipment individually

Equipment moves and changes state: it may be stored, assigned to an employee, moved between workspaces, transferred to another employee, sent for repair, returned to service or written off. Inventory+ records these changes for each specific unit. You can determine who is responsible, where it is, its current status, transfer history, inventory checks, repairs, condition, kit contents, photos and other unit-specific information.

When to use Equipment

Use individual equipment tracking when it matters which exact unit is involved. If you only need to know that the company has a certain quantity of interchangeable items, use Inventory instead. If you need to know the unit’s identity, location, responsible person, condition and history, track it as Equipment.

Equipment lifecycle

A typical lifecycle is: Add → assign responsibility → transfer → move → inventory check → repair → return to service → further transfers → write-off. Photos, condition information and kit contents can be maintained for the individual unit throughout this lifecycle.

Identification

A QR code or another identifier can be used to find a specific unit quickly. Marking is optional, but it makes it easy to open the correct equipment record.
